Windy as...

all get out here today.
It's 50* but feels like 39* from the wind.
Tomorrow is s-day #1.
Surgery for my 91 yr old mom-n-law.
She has poor circulation in her remaining leg.
They are going through her stump to femoral artery and over to other leg to put a stent in.
91 yrs old!
They say it's day surgery so fingers, toes and all appendages crossed they are right.
S-day #2 will commence soon.
Soon as all qualifying referrals are complete my Dad is having his hip replaced.
He will be 76 in few months.
Having had a major heartattack, defibulator, pacemaker, few strokes, and still going to operate.
Hopefully modern medicine works miracles.
Words can't describe what I feel for this old man.
It's hard to watch my "hung the moon" Dad fade from what he has always been.
To me it's harder than raising the most troublesome kid.
At least most of the (time) you know kid will mature and age out of trouble.
Aging is opposite to me.
Circle of life stinks.

Utter and Total Chaos...

I don't have time to blog or read blogs.
Utter chaos is my life right now.
Swapped by scholarships, soccer tryouts, second job at CPA, horrible warm weather giving animals pneumonia and killing them , let alone regular chores and skirtwork, crap don't forget my own taxes.
Utter Chaos...
Be back after this passes sometime in the future.
Till then I wish I were here ...

Or really anywhere but here.

Saturday

Cement happened today.                    It was 70° in February.     A major thunderstorm just ripped through Delaware. I know one small roof is mangled and now resides in a tree here. It had issues      before . This was a whopper for sure. Last night me and both chickies sewed hems on R's work slacks. 3 needles, 3 peeps, 3 pairs of pants hemmed. Success and family time.

Sad

I had a ewe with large bag (seemed like edema) I've been watching closely. I put her up last night in big stall inside so she could birth alone if needed. I checked her at 4:30. Nothing, laying down chewing and breathing normal. I came inside and read. Went out about 7:45 and found two rams. One up and hunting for breakfast. Her udder has so much swelling he will struggle to get some but hopefully he persists. If not I'll help soon. The other ram was huge but dead. She cleaned him off but no life.  I feel guilty. I don't like going out early yo feed on Sundays. As soon as I open the door everyone starts screaming. S gets in late Saturday from an auction he goes too. I let him sleep in some if I can.  What if I was out earlier to check instead of worrying about him or finishing one more chapter in my book? I know, I know but ... Just sad... I struggle with this as I only have smaller size flock. I might not notice if I had more? Yesterday the guys building S's garage came back. After an hour one side of roof was mostly done. By days end the siding up to eaves was done on three sides. I left at noon to go work for CPA till 6pm. I see they left skid steer so maybe they will be back Monday with it being holiday. The young man in charge works for another contractor so he only works here on Saturdays so far.

Might have...

Figured this mobile app out. Beautiful sunset tonight in Delaware. Lots is happening but too busy to post I guess. That sunset view which LN and I love is changing. This 3 bay building is replacing it. S is having it built to store his trash/treasures in it. I'm a little witchy about it. The shed it replaces is in bad shape. It wouldn't be if maintenance was done on it. S doesn't do that hence my irritation.  I'm am being allowed to park our fair camper in one bay. I'm sure crap/treasures/important stuff will be piled around it. Enough negativity. Speaking of the camper it has a leak. I have a friend trying to help find it and repair it. Fingers crossed it's simple. I know one outside storage compartment has damage but we will work on it. Still creeping along on the sock knitting. I'm working on the heel flap. It's slow progress but steady. Lambing is winding down. 2 ewes left , one a first timer which is 50-50 whether she'll be ok and an experienced one who needs to step it up. I'm tired of getting up to check her. Miss A is growing and progressing. She's a tiny thing but so adorable. Almost 10 months old and pulling herself up on everything and everyone. I still help watch her when I can to avoid daycare. None of us are fans for various reasons. Scholarships apps are piling up on my table. This next two months will be crazy trying to fill out everything in time. LN's counselor isn't helping. She is slow filling her requests for transcripts and recommendations. I know she's busy but we give her 3x the lead time she asks for. It's very stressful when she fills out a large amount. I'm working 25-30 hours a week at a cpa's office during tax season. This is in addition to our business and lambing and college stuff and soccer season, etc. Yikes what was I thinking?

Snow day stuff...

We have had about 6" of  fat, fluffy snow today.
It's been a relaxing day.
Traffic was quiet for once so outside was tranquil and pretty.

I worked on a crochet project someone requested.
J wanted a set of slippers on flip flop bottoms to use around her college dorm.

One done after frogging back first attempt a few times.

I used an ice pick to poke initial holes on her old pair of flops minus the thong.

The pattern I used was not specific enough.

Hence the frogging and improve of it all.

One more to go.

Since I can't find the mobile app to post off my IPhone 7 I am slowing down blogging.

This is a table runner I made few weeks before Christmas.

I like blues so this snowman with blue accents was a winner.

I backed it with this fun, colorful corduroy.
Very 60's to me but I like the color.
I reversed it after holidays to bring some color to the old blanket chest coffee table.
The blue bubbles fabric on the binding was interesting choice.
What do you think clashing or works?
I choose works.

Sorry these are crappy phone pictures in the dark.

Happy snow day ya'll.

One and...

One and done ...
LN  applied to one college for early decision.
It has a 32% acceptance rate.
She has been accepted.
She's a diplomat of Franklin and Marshall College in the fall.
So LN to one and done.
Did the research, visited 4 colleges, 2 she went back for interviews.
Had her requirements and charted their positives and negatives.
She had several close (might as well be family) advisors along with her Mama.
Made her decision and applied.

So much...

Nothing exciting here but some nose bleeds.
I had to buy a humidifier for the house.
The air is so dry LN is getting nosebleeds and S and I are always stuffed up.
Nothing exciting about that.
Otherwise just getting ready for the 25th like everyone else.
LN is waiting to hear about Early Decision to Franklin & Marshall College.
They said she would know by the 15th.
That is tomorrow and nada so far.
No snail mail or email as of todays post.
LN is not pleased.
The tension is crazy.
I do not like it.
Her whole life should not hinge on this.
This could ruin holidays or make them great.
That is a helluva seesaw to ride.

OK, Found em...

All the pictures I thought I lost when my laptop crashed I have found.
Apparently Google has every picture I ever downloaded from my camera.
Even what I have edited and or deleted.
Hmmm... Kinda like Big Brother is watching me.
Lil creepy...
Don't care since they are found.
Now how do I get them back on my computer?
Hmmmm....

I'm sure she'll know, she knows everything!
Techno related anyhoo, well mostly or she can figure it out.
That's frustrating to me.
I gotta figure it out meself, ya know.

One of my lost ones hahhahaha.
At least I can download to here.
Back later..
When IDK I'm heavy into scholarship mode and college app territory.
Send help please.....

Will it???

Work that is....
Laptop crashed last week and new phones were week before.
I lost pictures and apps I used for this blog.
Pictures makes me sad I cant get them back but can pull from Instagram and FB for a few.
Blogger app I used doesn't seem to be there anymore so what does anyone use on their
" smart phones" to post ?

Pictures sent to email from phone have changed format also and I cant just download them to my picture file on laptop. I have no idea what is going on. They download as zip files.
Eureka....
I switched to sending each picture from phone separately and then it worked. Sending multiples must be grouping them in zip file.

LN and I spend 6 days in Kentucky at NAILE.
North American International Livestock Exposition

LN knew she was in deep waters showing. She still wanted the experience.

She placed in Leadline and breed classes so she was happy.

She made contacts for futures sheep she would like to purchase .
It was a long week with 2 - 12 road trips book ending the show.

Amidst the chaos while others sat around doing nothing she did homework and college app.

The Expo center had this cool light that reflected the sunset each day but was clear rest of day.

Pretty sunsets each day.

She was able to meet up twice with the boy who drove cross country to take her to prom.
They are both engrossed in conversation and pun wars which they battle at.
He lives 30 min from the expo center so he took her to dinner one night and came back the next day to hang out as well.
They both want to study Environmental Sciences in college.
LN is 5'10" J is 6'3".

During the whole trip leaving on 8th and returning on 14th late LN stressed about her
college application.
She's applying for early admission and it was due the 15th at midnight.
Her part was complete before we left but she was waiting on 2 teachers and 1 counselor recommendation to be entered.
She gave them 3 weeks and all 3 did it on the last two days.
The last one came in on the 15th at noon.
She came home to push enter on her common app and guess what?
Yep internet issues.
The app would not load past a certain part.
It's 4:30pm and she was frantic.
She called her "other Mom" L who works at DOE (Dept of Education).
L has more connections so she worked to get the app to load through a
back door she knew about.

Finally submission was complete.
My baby has applied to college.
She has an excellent backup college but has her heart set on this one so cross all appendages.

It's happening even if I'm not ready.
