Worms grr and bales?

All my ewes are fat and sassy and hopefully pregnant except....

For some reason worms have tore her up. I thought some of it was low girl on the totem pole as she's newest addition. The others push her away but that's not it. She has been wormed with new and different wormer so let's see. If she susseptible then sale may be the answer. So frustrating but I'm crossing my fingers.

In the background of her picture and here you see the well fed ewes. I stay away from fat so delivery is easier but still well padded.

S2 delivered free round bales for cows. New haymaker that is still learning that S2 is helping out.

Very messy to handle but again free to me and man learned a lot . Usually S spikes them and dumps them over fence into feederand I cut strings and keep cows away so they don't get hurt. Lets just say he's being uncooperative. What's a girl to do?

Do it herself. A little less smoothly and more steps involved but mission complete. Girls are happy me included.

Since I know y'all were concerned. Yes camper is winterized thanks to neighbor men. Great guys always willing to help a girl out.
Still have lots to do but paddling as fast as I can.

It's alive!

Remember that phrase?
It's alive!
For me it should be, I'm alive!
I finished the classroom part of my income tax course today.
I have to take my final exam Wednesday.
Today was review day and we reviewed the whole course of work in a jeopardy style game.
2 teams of 3 (our class is small since its during the day, night class is full) were selected.
My team kicked booty even with 1 member not answering, and another (me) with a headache.
By final jeopardy we were ahead by $3,400.00 of fake moolah.
We won double jeopardy too!
Yeah, our prize was the answers to 2 pages of our final exam.
Woop!
I chose the hardest 1040A case study.
With the answers I figured I could backtrack to the forms needed.
Good dang thing cause I would not have arrived at those answers.
The tedious small lines of worksheets gets me.
I did 80% with no issues but health care and earned income were crazy.
Earned income I figured correct number but filled out sheets till the cows came home.
Health care I was wrong by $2.00 because of percentages.
The rounding up and moving out 3-6 places makes a world of difference.
Frustrating that the instructions say you only need 3 places out on a percentage but to arrive at their answer you need 6 places.
I finished my initial work though so I only have to study some questions.
It's open book so there is no excuse for failure to me.
We shall see after Wednesday.
Then maybe I'll get back to the gym (necessary my pants say), catch up on housework, catch up on barn work, catch up on animal issues, etc, etc, etc.
Oh yea there's a holiday looming I'm told.

Fav

Grab a handful or so (yes I use my hand) of left over mashed potatoes, add an egg. Smush it (it's a word) together and brown it on both sides. It's my favorite breakfast.

I've had the crappy flu again . It's mostly in my chest. The cough is strong enough my chest is sore. I've sucked down so many cough drops. The positive thoughts  were needed.

I'm almost over it maybe the wrappers gave me a boost!

But this is appropriate also except I'd sub tea for the nasty coffee and good ole Jack for the vodka.

Cooler

Cooler weather is here.
How can I tell?

LN s cat climbs on top of the keyboard as she does homework. In bed she starts at her feet and ends up on her chest some nights.

Hair grows on her steer faster than it can get brushed.
All signs of cooler weather.

This just because. S dropped round bale in the road Thursday. LN decided to sit a spell after her hockey game.
Crazy Kid!

Crazy

It's crazy round here....
My tax class is half over. It isn't what I needed , too simplistic but I paid so I am finishing it. If I agree to work for "them" they will teach me what I expected in a private class. It's a pretty good recruiting technique but not for me. Pay is not enough and its up to employee to find clients and rush them through for bonuses.
I am working for a CPA part time.

I make my own hours. It's grunt work but I find it relaxing to not stress like I do in other life areas. It's about 1/2 mi from my house so I can pop in whenever I find a few hours. I think I should walk or ride LN s bike for a bit of excercise.
LN is still in field hockey and still having coach issues. She has learned a lot from this and not all good but she won't forget it fast for sure.
She's being inducted in the National Honor Society next week. She's earned it and I'm proud.
4-h continues and busy is still the norm.
Oh yea...

During practice this week she took a stick to her face. It broke a blood vessel in her mouth and blood poured out. Outside she has 2 small cuts and swollen like a golf ball. She never cried and went to game next day. I did take her to oral surgeon but he said where the cut is it is too hard to stitch without causes more drama. It's at the bottom of jawline.
She was wearing her mouth guard so props for that. She's fine except tired of the jokes at her expense. She is curious why the girl who hit her hasn't talked to her just posted sorry on group message when LN gave everyone the doctors decision. No big deal just curious.
I will say my girl reminds me daily to be humble as she's a much better person than I am or will ever be.

Will it or Won't it?

I'm pondering whether the hurricane will hit Delaware.
If so I'll lose power so I decided to catch up on blog reading.

With some tea and honey for my sore throat (aww really just I'm addicted).
Also have on my Sock Monkey wool socks cause it's down to 50's with strong winds and rain.

This was yesterday mid morning as I pulled a load of waste green beans home to the cows.
It was a heavy sky filled with darker than it's showing clouds and starting to rain.
For those curious the waste beans came from the massive field I'm driving beside.
I needed 4x4 because of the 2 plus inches of rain the previous night.

LN and I stayed up to watch the eclipse.
It was boring and I was not impressed but glad to spend time laughing with my girl.
Our barn cats stayed with us for the hour we sat in our pj's on our dock.
We eventually moved to the back of the barn so thedusk to dawn light off to the picture's right on the main barn stopped corrupting the view.

This is the best picture of LN at the banquet Monday evening.
She's eating 2 ice creams after the chicken salad/fried oyster gluttony.
It was great and overwhelming as usual.
Her award came with a certificate and $50.00 so she was happy.

This is a puzzle my 90 yr old Mom-n-law put together.
She constantly "puzzles" and sometimes decoupages them and frames them.
She offers them to me but I pass as I don't need anymore "stuff" with my hoarder husband.
I took a picture for her to keep before boxing it back up.

Seems we are gonna get something.
Delaware is a forgotten state by most people so look at tiny state
right under New Jersey and beside Maryland.

I don't think the forecasters know what's coming so they scribbled everywhere just in case!

Time to get back to homework and various research projects for LN's college and career searches.
See you after Joaquin!!!

Always that one

Always has to be that one that climbs right into the middle of the trough.
Actually there is two that take turns.

Busy busy....
Headed to fried oyster/chicken salad dinner so LN can receive a rate of gain award for her hog from this past year. It is a beast of a meal at a fire hall near us. It's a tough job but I'll try to do it justice.

Still have cough flu cold crud.

Still taking classes on taxes.

Starting to do grunt work for CPA I know small hours but helps get me gone from home stress to more stress. Lol

More later... I hope...

3 things and stuff

There are 3 things consuming me at the moment.
(Well actually 20 plus things but I sorted through them.)

#1. This is my view a couple days/nights each week.
The tax course is a lot of paperwork and textbooks and folders and forms, etc.
Although I've completed many forms for myself and kids over the years I am learning small thing
about federals.
This is basic course so they aren't covering what I wanted of course.
They want you to work for them so advanced course is only for employees after a few years.
State forms can kiss my behind especially PA.
DE is easy and MD tolerable but PA, seriously complicated.

#2 College search information. Scholarship information also.
The hunt is on even not having concrete course of study from LN.
A friend who lives this is helping thank heavens.
Spread sheets, emails, research and lots of questions are being weeded through.

#3 Personal Issues
I'll leave it alone because I sound silly with my issues when others are so
much worse off.
I got myself into this so I have to get myself out of it.
But not till after other things are conquered.

Other stuffings!

The garden is weedy but no time to work on it.

A cow went on auction trailer today.
I'm sad, she was my favorite but fell last winter and never fully recovered.
No successful breeding in 2 years so she goes.
Winter would have been hard on her pinched back end.

LN's jeep has to be gotten rid of.
Serious frame issues were doctored up well by previous owner.
My mechanic found it when he was looking for something else.
I wasn't told and previous owner doesn't care if LN was hurt.
We're trying to sell it through car auction.
If not I'll private sell it but morally I struggle with this choice.
Would you?
Sell without disclosing issues?
It was done to me but .....

Not a Joke

Just went to rinse plate off after supper. When I turned water on the spray nozzle shot water all over me and the floor covering half of the kitchen floor.
Nope no rubber band in sight.
This was not a joke.
The nozzle must have had a lil bit of something blocking the shut off.
Someone used it before me and said " yea it got me too". Said person didn't bother to tell anyone else till I bellowed with rage nor did they wipe up the floor from their showering.
Grrrrrrrr

Yesterday's gorgeous sunset. This picture doesn't begin to show how cool it was. Within 10 min the clouds were covering up whole area into a flat sky. LN and I were driving home from some not good for us but def wanted it Taco Bell/KFC drive thru for our Saturday night supper fun. We are some hard core partiers. I do love me some original recipe and she loves tacos. We watched several old (as in 1977-1990) movies before bedtime. LN seems to enjoy those more than the modern crap which tickles me to death.
I start a income tax course in the morning. The lady who does our business taxes needs help. I'm taking the class to qualify and learn. We'll see how I do sitting inside for longer time periods. I don't expect I'll enjoy it but it pays. Sometimes that matters more.
Listen closely.... Hear that?
Silence of the air conditioners!
It is cool enough I shut those energy sucking loud a** noise boxes off and opened the windows.
I hope the 90's and humidity are crawling back in their holes for another year. Probably not but a girl can dream.

Corny road

On to freezer corn....

Went to get a load of waste corn for cows. Love my curly mess of hair? Sweaty humid hair?

I love the farm roads even with the dust.

There are 2 tractors with corn wagons in that dust cloud.

I picked through one side of my wagon and pulled 160 ears out for suppers; son, neighbor and us. The rest will get shucked, cut off, blanched and froze. I'm going to freeze smaller amounts since it's just 3 of us. A full quart bag is too much. It may seem a waste of freezer bags but better that than wasting corn after all the work involved. Maybe I'll do some full for soups and stews and casseroles. Hmmm...
