SO much rain has fallen recently this tree committed suicide by wind.
Just gave up the ghost...
Same storm as above took the power for 4 hours.

Otherwise rinse and repeat is my life at this stage.
First, glad to see a post from you. We have had some strange weather. We had lots of rain, turned to snow, to freezing temps (froze our hot water pipes), to more snow. Love all you photos. the pocket one made me laugh. Very cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristen, I heard you are getting slammed hard. We are but in short bursts. Temp was 18* this morning on way to work after being up for couple hours breaking ice and feeding critters. Grandson is a mini me to his Dad, really to be honest so is his girl much to her Mamas dismay.

ReplyDeleteI had a 100+year old white oak that did the same but stayed upright. We had so much rain and snow of '23 that kept coming into May it simply (an my tree guy agreed) drowned but was so well rooted it stayed up right until it was removed in June. Unfortunately the tree had a carport put up almost touching it .
So a crane was ordered as it was the only safe way to get it down, my tree guy hooked up and spent an hour plus tying branches carefully and then the crane operator then lifted them up and away to a safe landing. It was great fun to watch but my pocket book felt the $$$ flying by the hourly wage.
and who knows what caused someone to do that?
