Another Tuesday

What else is there to say on another Tuesday?
I'm still working out and have changed my food choices.
That doesn't interest me but I am trying.
There's something about dry chicken breast I do not like based on texture mostly.
I am sticking though.
S went to Vegas to visit with his oldest son for a week.
His son is roping in the National Team Roping going on simultaneously in Vegas
with National Finals Rodeo about 1/2 hr apart in the city.
Both events are filling the city of sin up with cowboys.
With S away I am home bound and have to work with my trainer at night.
I must be part bear because dark winter nights are for hibernating.
Regardless I am going after I close the store.
I leave LN list of chores and supper and I'm off.
I haven't reach "good feelings" others warn me of when they exercise but I'm hopeful.
I think the whole time of what else I need to do and how much time is left.
That's why Yoga never worked for me.
I could never shut my mind off to "relax".
I still have Christmas decorations to put up but I'm stalled  at 50%.
I did get to porch lights and barn wreath so I think that's enough, don't you?
I have given away things I have sorted and don't use anymore.
I'll go through the rest and purge at least.
The tree and window candles are pretty at night so that helps my mood.
Come on Wednesday (I have a rest day with trainer) lol.
I just want metabolism.
Is that too much to ask for?
Hello Santa ...???

The Teaser

Remember the teaser? A bolt of shiny polyester mix fabric?

I cut 20" across the width of bolt and sewed it together to form a tube.

Pinned and sewed a 1 1/4" top sleeve and a 1/2" bottom hem.

Insert elastic in the sleeve and sew shut.

Waalaaa... do it 8 times over and you have ...

A Candy Cane skirt for the float for 8 girls last Friday night.

No pictures of the parade or float because
it POURED cats and dogs and Mama ain't ruining her new camera.
I will try to find a picture from another parent.

As for Picasa issues...
If I download my pictures to Google (plus) then I can upload them to Blogger without paying.
It takes longer but doesn't cost me to download.
This blog was to be an online diary/blog .
I will not pay to add  photos and I think a blog without pics is boring.
I don't care wether anyone else reads it or just me I like pictures.
I tried to copy/paste but can't so I'll see how this goes.

Help me PLEASE

I believe others have had this issue but I can't find the answer now, go figure.
I can't download pictures anymore.
Google which took over Blogger says I've maxed out the Picasso file and have to pay.
Does anyone have advice as to how to fix this issue?

The Tree

LN & I picked out, set up and decorated our tree today.
Umm small issue, tiny , miniscule really.
After finishing before putting on my burlap tree skirt I filled the stand
and guess what??? Surprise, Surprise, Surprise !!!
The stand cracked and leaked all over .
I had a temper tantrum that was un-Christmas like to say the least.
A temporary bowl under the stand with a towel under the whole soaking mess
will suffice until S brings home a new tree stand.
Tomorrow the 3 of us will work in tantum to move the decorated tree to a new home.
Sounds easy and fun right?

I think it came out pretty but hard to see even with flash.
I need to take daylight pictures.

LN snapped some of her favorite ornaments such as her giraffe, she's obsessed.

One of her several soccer ornaments. Think it looks like her?

I believe this is her 1st grade ornament.
I try to add one each year for her future collection.

She has never seen the Jetsons but loves this set .

LN loved Bob the Builder when she was young so Wendy is always used.
LN named her 1st market goat Wendy when she was 3 yr old.
Wendy is still with us at 10 yrs old now.

Who doesn't love Arthur? Another younger childhood memory.

Gotta have a 4-H nod of course.

My new addition to the flock.

A few other ewes .

A cutie patootie

I made this Santa in multiples as a teacher's gift a few years ago.

I don't even remeber this friendly snowman but I like it.

A sparkily 3D snowflake that's vintage. I have 2 of these sparklers.

I love me some peanut butter cups so LN thought this was a good gift last year.

I love this handpainted light bulb I scored at a craft show a long time ago.

Well doesn't everyone have a naked Santa on their tree?

Again LN thought this was so me one year.

I was not amused but grew to like it a little.

This is just a teeny tiny sample of out wacky tree.
No color coordinated yuppy tree for us.
LN told me about her friends tree like that, she said "it's so impersonal".

A Few of ...

A few of my favorite things ...

Some of my older Santas and Snowmen
that are 40's or 50's plastic or machie, maybe cellulose too
and a COKE bottle Santa

An electric Santa teapot I found at an auction in the middle
Some blueware pieces from Elthred pottery
on the left a 5 piece stacking Snowman, hat is 2 pieces (salt/pepper), body is 3 pieces

A sign and below 2 other "cowboy" Santas for S

My heavy cast iron pieces I love
How 'd did snowman get bigger than ole portly Santa?
Closer views just cause I love them so much

Kinda looks like an Oriental snowman I think.
I know he is cool but heavy as well.

Shockingly this isn't all of my decorations.
I think I need an intervention.
I am sorting things though to send things I don't display to auction as I put things out.
I do like Christmas.
It makes me smile real big just walking in a room and seeing my "treasures".

Oh yea, update on gym and trainer
I hate it, I'm sore, I wanna a cookie, I am very sore!
I will not stop and I will adjust my eating habits and food.
I can do this.
I will.

Starting to ...

It's starting to look like Christmas season a tiny bit here.
LN & I pulled all the boxes out of the cubby storage holes in this 100 yr old house.
There is no attic as the bedrooms have slanted walls from being under the roof.
It is a feat to stack all my decorations so they all fit in the tiny cubby hole along with boxes
containing income taxes and records for last 7 years.
Anyhooo we managed to unload everything and switch out taxes and store some other things.
Now the daunting task of unpacking and repacking things that are already out.
Boxes are not labeled, that would take the fun out of discovering the treasures inside each one.
First box I opened had a quilt I bought in WV two  years ago.
It is enormous and I don't have a spot to display it properly so it all shows but I'm working on it.
I have it draped over some old ladders and forks standing against the living room wall.

Cute Family

A separate block

Each side of main panel has tons of interesting blocks.
I love the little sled.

Cute fabrics of the season and snowflakes machine embroidered.

Gotta have a tree ya know.
See the lower right block? I like the candy , so festive.
I think I paid $40.00 and it was worth it in my opinion.

I mixed up and baked Citrus Bars for 4-H party last night.
I snuck 2 small ones but did not eat any of the other 20 goodies other parents made.
I can survive this season and do this!
I will and I can.

So good with a cup of tea though.
I wish....

This is a teaser...
What do you think I made with this shiny, man-made fabric?
I'll tell you later.

Irony

I am trying to get fit
which involves losing weight
which involves changing my diet
which involves cutting way down on fats and sweets
but does not involve....
making a dessert for tonights 4-H Christmas party today.
If I smell the aroma will I gain weight?
Off to bake :/

Busy Day

Today was not a day of rest for me. It never is anymore.
LN & I went to a friends to work on a gingerbread house for a 4-H contest next Sunday.
I took along my Christmas present to my self.
I played around with my new toy and I think I likey verryyy much.
There are more complicated models but more than sufficient for my amateur status requires.
Two lenses and a camera bag were included.
I'm stoked.
Anyhow today LN and friend made this...

A German type Grist Mill with a moving water wheel.
Its made of gingerbread and decorated with candy,  cereal and icings.
They ate as much icing as they used.
It took 4 hours just to decorate.
Gingerbread was baked couple of days ago so it would harden.
In the middle they went to a senior center and decorated a tree for another contest this week.
Clubs compete in a homemade tree decorating contest.
It must be placed in the community where it can be viewed and judged.
Members painted and crafted 10 different ornaments for our tree "Holiday Friends".
I'm not as sore as last few days but I begin again tomorrow so I'm ready for it.
WEE.................

Tired but...

I am tired and very sore in my arms especially.
I'm so tired I washed my face with finger nail polish remover instead of facewash.
Is that a bad thing?
I'm tired.
Been a trying week and not over yet.
Worked with trainer Thursday and Friday.
Dang near puked or passed out Friday.
Didn't quit!
Walked on treadmill for 45 min today and completed 4 sets of 20 of 2 other exercises.
Went to local orchard and bought last apples fresh picked as well as local broccoli.
Ran errands w LN and she watched me eat like a hawk so I couldn't try anything.
LN & 2 friends ran Salvation Army bell for 2 hrs. tonight at Wally World.
I HATE Wally World.
I try to never enter that store.
They wanna take shut down all small businesses and bankrupt the rest.
I went in tonight and reminded myself why I hate that store.
My MIL wanted me to shop for $15.00 gift to donate at her Lioness meeting Wednesday.
I was there and forgot yogurt today at my regular store as well as a 4-H project supply.
I went in.
Yuck
Ewwww
Double Yuck
After my 10 min dash for 3 things I stood with girls and watched the chaos outside.
"It's cheap so let's buy more foreign made junk that will last about 1/10th as long as American-made."
"Well while I'm here let me buy all kinds of stuff I don't need cause it's cheap."
"I wonder why I'm broke all the time."
People need to wake up and think about things.
We'll never pull out of our "economic crisis" if we only support China, Pakistan and India.
Support AMERICANS for a change.
OK I'm off the soap box .... for now!

HoHum

I joined the gym and start with a trainer tomorrow morning.
I've signed a contract and am planning a 4x week gym workout and 1 day at home.
Come on will power, hello where are you?
I'm happy, I'm scared, I'm sad.
Goodbye body I'm gonna miss some of you.
I'll probably be so sore this weekend I won't want to move but I will.
My trainer is my customer also so I can't be mean to him.
I think I'm gonna want to be very mean soon.
Oh well certain people say I always am so I have a head start.
I have to sew 8 "candy cane" skirts this weekend for next weekend.
The 4-H club has a float in a Christmas parade on the 7th of Dec.
The girls on board are going to be Can(e) Can(e) dancers.
Play on words, get it?
Oh well somehow I was "volunteered" to sew skirts.
I'll try to take pictures.
I put a 24" separating zipper in S's coat he won a zillion yrs go at our roping series.
I didn't take a picture and you wouldnt have wanted to see my frustration.
That was not fun at all.
The coat was not a 22 or a 24" so I bought the larger and folded it over at the top.
It looks good but was a bear to complete.
Oh well time to knit and relax for tomorrow
I DIE...
